The Tubby Hook Paddle Company is a small business formed in New York State. The website address is: https://www.tubbyhook.com.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Scheduling and course booking is facilitated using Acuity Scheduling. Acuity cookies will collect:

  • IP Address, browser type, version, and device identifiers.
  • Pages visited, time on pages, clickstream data, referring and exit pages.
  • Login status, Language preferences, and session identifiers.
  • User behavior for improving site performance and aggregated statistics for internal analysis.
  • User preferences for personalized content, and tracking user interactions for retargeting ads. Ads do not appear on www.tubbyhook.com or its scheduling pages.

We do not have user logins enabled for anyone other than staff of the Tubby Hook Paddle Company.

Personal Data: Sharing, Usage, and Retention

All clients will need to fill out an activity waiver that includes their name and contact information, generally email and phone. Additionally, members taking courses for accreditation with either the American Canoe Association or Paddles Up / Paddle UK, will need to provide their membership number.

This information is only shared with the insurer, and in the case of accreditation, with the accrediting agency. Insurance and course registration is retained for seven years.

Client names and email addresses will be added to an email newsletter, which goes out two or three times a year. Clients may opt out of this by clicking unsubscribe or notifying jkm@tubbyhook.com

Client names may be retained in an internal database for long-term skill development notes. Clients may opt out of this by notifying jkm@tubbyhook.com.

Client names, email addresses, and other personal identification information is not otherwise shared.

Email correspondence is retained for seven years and then discarded.

What rights you have over your data

You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
